Daughter of the Deep follows a girl named Ana. Ana's world was turned upside down two years ago when her parents mysteriously died on a mission in the ocean. It's turned upside down again when her home, a marine academy named Harding-Pencroft, along with everyone who goes there that isn't a freshman, is blown up, including her brother. The freshman class was on their way to their final evaluation when the school was destroyed so they are the only survivors of Harding-Pencroft. To survive they must face their rivals, the Land Institute, and race to get the ultimate weapon first. It's the same thing that killed Ana's parents. All throughout the book you follow revelations and betrayals during the quest. THIS BOOK SETS UP FOR MORE BOOKS BUT IT IS A STANDALONE!! WHY?!? WHY?!?
