The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan

This is a really good book!  It's funny and has lots of good characters.  The storyline is really great, and it's hard to put down.

Ten Things I Hate About Me by Randa Abdel-Fattah

I liked this book because it had a handful of plot twists and was acknowledging women's rights and Islamophobia with fantastic arguments.  But, this book was pretty predictable and the plot twists were foreshadowed and hinted by the author.  I liked this book a lot but it isn't one of my favorites.  But it certainly is a legendary book and I would totally recommend it!

The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien

The Hobbit is a fantasy novel about Bilbo Baggins and his adventures through Middle Earth, and his friendships with the dwarves and Gandalf.

Smile by Raina Telgemeier

This book is recommended for people who like graphic novels, or realistic fiction, or even a mix of both.  The story takes place through Raina's POV.  And talks about how Raina knocks out her top two teeth and continues her journey into high school.

The Selection by Kiera Cass

An entertaining romance that will keep you on your toes.  This series gets better and better.  You will follow the journey of America as she competes for the crown, but little does she know that feelings will get involved.

When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead

This book is so good; it's about a girl who receives strange letters saying to follow the instructions to save her friend's life.

Luca (movie)

Luca was memorable and sweet with beautiful messages about family - found and made - and even the people you originally grow up alongside.  It also touched on the often underappreciated confusing stage of platonic childhood friendships.  With an unforgettable soundtrack, adorable animation, and nostalgic summer plot, Luca is a must for all before autumn arrives in full force.

Misfits by Jen Calonita

I love this book because it's all about a girl named Devin, who was a princess then had to go to a school to teach her how to be a princess.  There she meets some of her friends.  Then she learns a secret that will change the school forever.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

This book is really good and I rate it 5 stars.  The reason I like it so much is because it has a bunch of cliffhangers.  The Hate U Give is a bout a 16 year old girl named Starr Carter.  Starr and her best friend were at a party and then they heard gunshots so they quickly evacuated. While they were driving back to Starr's house, a cop pulled them over and ushered them outside of the car and the rest is history!

Blade of Secrets by Tricia Levenseller

Blade of Secrets is a great book about just how much this magical bladesmith learns while she is running for her life with her little sister, a mercenary, and a scholar studying magic from a demented warlord who wants to take over the world.

Osmosis Jones (movie)

Great movie that I watched when I was younger and again now.  Still something anyone can enjoy.  Really good with its integration of life action and animation for when it was made.

Akissi: Tales of Mischief by Abouet & Sapin

Akissi: Tales of Mischief is a book that I would recommend to anyone who really likes funny comics.  This book has scenarios filled with Akissi' s mischief as shown in the title.  It's a really good book to cheer you up if you're down.
