The Golden Spoon by Jessa Maxwell

The Golden Spoon is a murder mystery that takes place in competition sort of like the Great British Baking Show.  This book was about 300 pages long and it took 250 pages for a murder to happen.  This book was very slowly paced and there was an unnecessary amount of character backstory.  The ending was very rushed and predictable and very anti-climatic.  Overall I wouldn't recommend this book unless you like slow paced books and aren't actually looking for a murder mystery.

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

This book is very unique and good for those who like mystery.  This book has two different perspectives from both the protagonist and antagonist.  The book builds up mystery very well as well.

Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

This book is a mystery with more to be discovered than expected.  The main character, Ada, finds out about her friends, the world and most importantly herself.  John Green’s writing is easy to read, entertaining, and always has an amazing theme.  This book is one of my all-time favorites to read.  Read to follow Ada through her self-discovery journey.

The Land of Stories: The Enchantress Returns by Chris Colfer

It was an amazing book to read!  I would definitely recommend it to people who love mystery and a little bit of fantasy.  The plot thickens a lot which makes it an amazing book for mystery lovers.

It is an amazing game on Roblox.

The Last Mapmaker by Christina Soontornvat

The Last Mapmaker is a fantastic book. It had a lot of action and mystery (and also a little bit of drama). It is an amazing choice for people who love a lot of action and mystery.

Wednesday (TV Series)

Oh my lord, this show was the best; it had tons of plot twists. The actors were amazing and definitely played their roles well. I definitely recommend to watch this!

Closed for the Season by Mary Downing Hahn

A murderer on the loose. A house called “The Murder House”. Can it be any worse than a wannabe guy who has no friends about to find the murderer? Read on to find out!

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

I thought this book was amazing. The way it was written was very nice. Even though it was a very awful story (not badly written, just sad that it happened in real life), it was way better written than any true crime or nonfiction I’ve read.

1Q84 by Haruki Murakami

Very long and intense but keeps you paying attention at the same time. Not really an overall story or plot, it’s kind of all over the place which is what I like about it. Includes magic events in a very realistic sense. Very good, but way too long and drawn out over 1,000 pages.

All Fall Down by Ally Carter

This book is a great novel about a girl named Grace, who ever since her mom was shot in front of her eyes, has been hunting for the killer.  After returning to Embassy Row to live with her grandfather, Grace finds herself once again at odds with the Scarred Man, but along with her new friends, she must try and save the society of Embassy Row before it all. Falls. Down.

Vials by Kathy Reichs

It is an interesting series for middle and high schoolers, since they are around the same age as the protagonists.  The characters are developed well and easy to relate to, despite the science fiction theme.

The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

I was very happy with this book.  It was the third one in the series.  It definitely set it up for either a spinoff series or another book so I will be very disappointed if there isn't another book.

One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus

If you love thrillers then this is a great book for you.  This book always has you on the edge of your seat.  This book is one of my all-time favorites and is a definite must read.

You'll Be the Death of Me by Karen M. McManus

You'll Be the Death of Me is a murder mystery book.  This book follows Ivy, Mateo, and Cal.  This book takes place when one of their classmates is killed.  I love the books written by this author because in all of her books the characters are always hiding something and it is fun to uncover exactly what their secrets are.  The reason I didn't give this book a full 5 stars is because it can be a little confusing at times and a little hard to follow the story in some parts.

I am Princess X by Cherie Priest

I really enjoyed this book.  There is never a dull moment.  If you have a good relationship with your best friend, it is a relatable book.  This book is filled with mystery and action.  I would recommend this for anyone 11-17.

Red Dragon by Thomas Harris

I really enjoyed this engaging thriller because it gives a personal perspective of what it's like to be a forensic psychologist - which is something I am very interested in. It is a very disturbing story & left me wanting more.
