The Golden Spoon is a murder mystery that takes place in competition sort of like the Great British Baking Show. This book was about 300 pages long and it took 250 pages for a murder to happen. This book was very slowly paced and there was an unnecessary amount of character backstory. The ending was very rushed and predictable and very anti-climatic. Overall I wouldn't recommend this book unless you like slow paced books and aren't actually looking for a murder mystery.

The Thing About Leftovers by C. C. Payne
This book was originally assigned to me for extra reading but I grew to really enjoy it. It's about a young girl whose parents divorce and how she comes to finally accept herself. I really enjoyed this book.

The Stars of Summer by Tara Dairman
The Stars of Summer is a book recommended for people who love cooking. Gladys has a problem. She has a secret job, and her aunt just got fired from her job in France. I liked this book because it had the right amount of suspense, comedy, realisticness, and more!

The Thing About Leftovers by C.C. Payne
This book was very enjoyable. The author really did a good job of making you feel like you were actually with the character in school or in the kitchen. It combines cooking with middle school life to make a spectacular dish of literature.

Julie and Julia by Julie Powell
I think this book was very fun and entertaining, but at times it got a little lengthy, but overall I thought it was very well-written and an easy read.
