Wonder by R.J. Palacio
Have you ever been different from the crowd? August Pullman knows. It's the norm for him. Born with a facial abnormality, he's been homeschooled his whole life. Everyone calls him names, like freak and zombie. But as he starts at a middle school, he learns that being different isn't always bad. This fiction novel has claimed many high awards, and is reassuring for "different" kids who are feeling a bit self-conscious.
