The Crucible by Arthur Miller
The story is dark but historic and interesting. Many people were accused of something that they did not do, and then found guilty even without any evidence. This was driven by fear of the unknown and many suffered. This represents the true nature of mankind, and it's important to know the dangers of it. The story does a good job of showing it.
