It by Stephen King
Even if you've seen the It movie and the mini series, you don't even get 1% of the story in the book. The plot is pretty basic as there's a clown that's terrorizing the small town of Derry, Maine, but the story is much more than that. A common pattern in Stephen King's work is talking about the joy of childhood and the movies don't really touch that much on those themes. After reading the book, you get an in-depth look at how the characters truly connect and how much they depend on one another. It is really a book with many meanings that only a 1000+ page book can explain which is something that a two hour movie can't do. I'm about three chapters in but it's long.
