Speak was about a freshmen girl, named Melinda, that went to Merryweather High School. In the beginning of the novel, all of her ex-best friends hated her for calling the cops at a party. For most of the story, Melinda did not talk to any of her friends, family, or teachers. At the end of the novel, she was talkative and told her friends that she was raped. This book was intense and interesting.
