Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling
The book is about a boy who has been told his parents are dead his whole life who goes to a wizarding school without his bad uncle and aunt. He has to stop the "bad guy" (Voldemort) from getting the "stone of immortality" (philosopher's stone). I recommend this great book for you

The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan
The first book in the Magnus Chase series deals with the Norse Gods. Magnus Chase is a demigod who is sent to Valhalla after some unfortunate circumstances. With new allies in tow, they fight evil, learn new things about themselves, and kick butt.
Three Times Lucky by Sheila Turnage
I really like the book. It is about a girl and boy are friends. There is a murder and they are trying to find who killed him. Then the girl's parents disappear and the boy and girl create a group named Desperado Detectives.

Matched by Ally Condie
It's amazing. Cassia is at her matching banquet and finds out that Xander is her match but finds out there was an error in the society and falls in love with Ky and shares one of the poems that she is not even supposed to know with him. I just love how the author describes the whole book and scene.

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series by Rick Riordan
Very funny and great comedy, also surprising and scary. Also very nice characters with creative chapter names.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald - The Original Screenplay by J.K. Rowling
This is an excellent screenplay. The drama, depth of the characters, and overall flow really helps to get you into the story.
Drag Teen by Jeffrey Self
I think that this book was entertaining as well as educational because it literally puts you in a person's shoes which are so different than your own. This book shows us some of the struggles of kids in underprivileged areas or not in the best stage of their life, and how hard work can really help.

Matched by Ally Condie
When Cassia was at the matching banquet and found out that Xander was her match, OMG! But after she falls in love with Ky, and even kissed him but didn't tell Xander, I was so curious! At the end when she chose Ky over Xander, I felt like she made the right choice.

Schooled by Gordon Korman
This book is about a boy who has lived on a farm commune all his life and is suddenly dropped into middle school on a freak accident. I liked this book because it was so different from anything else I've ever read and well-written. It has an important moral and was written from the perspective of multiple people.
