Light Years by Tammar Stein
The book Light Years is about a girl named Maya who struggles with finding herself. She is originally from Israel but moves to Virginia for college. I rate this book a 10/10 because Tammar Stein describes the details very vividly. I totally recommend this book!

Swing Kids (movie)
Very good movie about the beginning of the Holocaust. Peter, the main character in the movie, has had his dad "disappear." It's up to him to find out why/how. He makes and breaks friendships along the way. He must support his family and obey the Nazi officers to keep his family safe and sound.

The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton
The novel The Outsiders was an elaborate portrayal of the disputes between teens from a socially higher class and the socially neglected class. Ponyboy, the main character, faces disputes from himself and many other people. The plot takes off slowly but builds each individual character to the point of reality; suddenly the book is over leaving you yearning for more.
