The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

The girl is a teenager and she gets murdered.  The whole book is about how she tries to find and expose her killer and keep him from killing other people.

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

It is about a girl who is treated unfairly by her dad and leaves to live with her servant.

This Side of Home by Renee Watson

It was a very good book.  It has things that can be very helpful to a teenage girl who is having a difficult time finding herself.

She really described in detail how she suffered as someone who was forced into the camps.

It by Stephen King

It's a very fun and entertaining horror book!

Breathless by Jessica Warman

Katie's brother was sent to a mental hospital, and Katie doesn't want anyone at her new private school to know.  Katie is a talented swimmer, even at this school, where everyone is talented.  But when her secret is in danger of being exposed, Katie doesn't know what to do.

Lumberjanes series by Noelle Stevenson

Lumberjanes is a graphic novel series about a camp for all girls and a group of friends who try to solve the mystery of why a bunch of weird things are happening.  There are evil boy scouts, bear women, and monsters that all seem to fit together.

(The graphic novels are available in the library.  The individual comic books are available through Hoopla.)

The Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan

An awesome book of adventure.  Best of the trilogy yet!  I cannot wait for the next book with demigods.
